What is the Omaha Area Board of REALTORS® Foundation?
The Omaha Area Board of REALTORS® Foundation provides the optimal opportunity to make a tax-deductible, charitable donation that directly benefits the real estate industry and the local community.
Nine, local REALTORS® serve as the OABR Foundation’s Board of Directors for the 501(c)3 charitable organization. OABR absorbs all overhead expenses, which means 100% of donations directly fund vital housing-related causes, scholarships for UNO real estate students, scholarships for minorities working towards licensure and a career in real estate, supporting the trades, and special needs in the greater Omaha community.
The OABR Foundation understands the importance of supporting the trades and has donated to Metro Community College North Campus to support the trades programs. The trades worker shortage has exacerbated the affordable housing crisis. Having a robust network of trades benefits the real estate industry and the community.
AFTER TORNADOES RAVAGED THE REGION ON APRIL 26, 2024, THE OABR FOUNDATION STEPPED IN TO HELP VICTIMS IMPACTED BY THE STORMS, INCLUDING SPECIAL ASSISTANCE TO INDIVIDUALS FROM THE LOCAL REAL ESTATE COMMUNITY.
JUDI ANDING EDUCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP
Judi Anding was a trailblazer in the local real estate community who was passionate about education and real estate. Her 46-year career boasted an impressive array of titles, including owner-broker at two real estate companies. She also taught at the Randall School of Real Estate for 44 years and wrote several real estate books and training manuals.
The Judi Anding Scholarship is entrusted with the Omaha Area Board of REALTORS® Foundation. OABR REALTOR® members with six months to three years of membership are eligible to apply for a tuition scholarship for a NAR Designation or Certification course. Up to five scholarships will be awarded per year. Contact Donna Shipley, Programs Director, with questions.
